This team provides a service for women with mental health needs related to pregnancy, childbirth and parenting in the first year after the birth. The service is committed to an approach that is caring, culturally sensitive and confidential.

The team provides:

• Crisis care and urgent assessment

• On-going assessment and treatment

• Home visiting

• Information and education

• Group meetings

• A Partners support group

• Referrals to Maori and Pacific Islands services

• A Psychiatric Liaison Midwife with mental health expertise is available to assist women during pregnancy and after the birth
